Royal Society of Biology AGM
Annual General Meeting 2020
Over 150 members and representatives from Member Organisations attended this year's Annual General Meeting on Thursday 24th September. The virtual meeting included a Charter Lecture by Dr Jacqui Piner CBiol FRSB, presentation of the Trustee’s Report and Accounts and election of new Trustees to the RSB Council.
Draft minutes will be available soon and will be formally approved at the next AGM in 2021.
The following resolutions were voted on by members at the Annual General Meeting:
- Approval of the Annual Report and Accounts of the Society for the year October 2018 - September 2019.
- Authorisation for Council to appoint haysmacintyre as the Society’s auditors for the financial year October 2019 - September 2020 and to set their remuneration.
Volunteering as a Trustee on the RSB Council is one of the best ways to help influence how the Royal Society of Biology delivers its charitable aims and acts as a unified voice for biology. This year there were two vacancies on Council, one open to Individual Members of the RSB and one to representatives of Member Organisations. To stand as a Trustee of the RSB you must be nominated by your peers. The election has now finished and a full list of current Trustees is available.
