The Society of Biology has launched its 2014 competition to support student members who wish to develop careers in animal science and technology. Undergraduate student members (and those who have applied for membership) can enter the competition for a chance to win a Home Office Modular training 1 – 3 course paid for by the Society of Biology.

How to enter

If you are interested in applying please submit a 1,500 word essay to cpd@societyofbiology.org answering the following question:

The UK Government has recently published a document explaining how it intends to deliver on its commitment to replace, reduce and refine the use of animals in research. Which elements of this plan do you think will have the most impact and why? What further actions could the UK Government take to replace, reduce and refine the use of animal in research?

Deadline

The deadline for applications is Monday 30th June 2014.

Winners will be notified the week commencing 4th August and will be booked on to a Module 1 – 3 course due to run in the autumn term. They will also receive one year's free Society of Biology membership when their membership year comes to an end.
