Learn about animal management and sustainable development, and explore the zoological collection at Kirkley Hall
Join us on a guided visit at Kirkley Hall, Ponteland, to see their equestrian centre, agricultural units, horticulture grounds, woodlands (weather permitting) and zoological collection.
Attendees will hear a talk, learn about their vision for sustainable development and training future generations for land-based industries, and enjoy a light lunch.
12:00 - Welcome talk by Leah O'Callaghan followed by presentations from some current students.
13:15 - Tea, coffee and light lunch with networking opportunities with staff and students.
14:00 - Staff/student led tour of the campus to include equestrian centre, agricultural units, horticulture grounds, woodlands (weather permitting) and zoological collection.
15:30 - End of event
Venue
This event will take place at the Northumberland College Zoological Collection, you can find more information on how to get there on their website.
We will be outside for the tour, so please dress according to the weather conditions and with strong footwear. No dogs except registered service animals are allowed on site - some areas are restricted so please do let us know during booking if you would be bringing a service animal.

The majority of the campus is wheelchair accessible however if we were to enter any of the paddocks or equestrian arenas they will not be wheelchair accessible. The farm yard, equine yard and zoo all have wheelchair access, however there is a steep incline up to the farm from the main campus which users of manual wheelchairs may struggle with.
Unfortunately the zoo does not have loop installed for talks so anyone with hearing impairments may need to sit near the front for talks. If any visitors have cochlear implants, they would be more than happy to use assistive listening devices.

This event would appeal to adults, students and families (all under 18s must be accompanied by an adult).
