UK PlantSci 2016

UK PlantSci 2016 is the annual conference of the UK Plant Sciences Federation (UKPSF) and the meeting showcases the wealth of plant sciences in the UK. It also provides a unique forum for all those interested in the plant sciences to come together and share their knowledge and expertise.

Fascination of Plants Day 2015

FoPD-2015-web-display250pxThe UKPSF provided central coordination for national events taking place under the third international Fascination of Plants Day (FoPD). FoPD is an international initiative that encourages people around the world to celebrate the importance of plants and plant science. Building on the success of previous years, botanic gardens, research labs, schools, museums and farmers opened their doors on and around 18th May 2015 with plant-based activities for all ages. The UK hosted over 30 events involving more than 60 organisations, from hands-on activities and interactive exhibits, to guided walks, talks and debates. Fascination of Plants Day 2013

Nearly 700 botanic gardens, research labs, schools, museums and farmers around the world opened their doors for Fascination of Plants Day 2013. The UK's activities were coordinated by the UK Plant Sciences Federation and included over 80 participating organisations. A summary of some of the successes can be found on the Fascination of Plants Day website.

UK PlantSci 2013

16 to 17 April 2013

UK PlantSci 2013 took place at the University of Dundee. Speakers included David Baulcombe (University of Cambridge), Charles Godfray (University of Oxford), Rob Edwards (Fera), Mike Holdsworth (University of Nottingham), Jonathan Jones (The Sainsbury Laboratory, Norwich), John Pickett (Rothamsted Research), Toby Pennington (RBGE), Beverley Glover (University of Cambridge), Sarah Gurr (University of Oxford) and Mark Watson (RBGE). Video presentations from UK PlantSci 2013 can be viewed via the Journal of Experimental Botany website, and a meeting report is published in New Phytologist.
