Scientists and the public join forces to clean up the coastline
This annual event by the Centre for Marine and Coastal Studies,
Universiti Sains Malaysia (CEMACS) aims to promote awareness about marine pollution, collect data on the trash that is polluting the ocean, and prevent further ocean pollution via research, education, awareness, community, collaboration and engagement.
During this event, organisers are hoping to research the following areas:
- Aquaculture: Bivalve, crustacean, echinoderm, seaweed
- Biodiversity & coral reef ecosystems
- Ocean acidification, climate change & pollution
- Marine debris pollution
Who should attend?
This event would bee suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate students, academics, researchers and industrial representatives, as well as anyone with an interest in coastal clean-up!
