A guided walking tour of Birmingham Institute of Forest Research

Event outline

The Birmingham Institute of Forest Research (BIFoR) is the forest research facility of the University of Birmingham, set up to monitor changes in growth of forest trees due to increased levels of carbon dioxide and other climate changes.

This private tour will be guided by Professor Jeremy Pritchard from the department of biosciences at the University of Birmingham, and will last approximately an hour and a half. There will also be frequent stops for explanations.

Hard hats and high-vis jackets will be provided, but sturdy boots and long sleeved, weather appropriate clothing is recommended, as well as insect repellent and cream for possible bites and stings.

Detailed directions to the site are available to download.

Cost and booking

This event is free to attend and open to all, and advance booking is essential.
